ICDE solicits demonstrations of highly innovative database systems research, illustrating scientific contributions in an interesting and interactive manner. A demonstration paper should clearly articulate the motivation behind the system/technology being demonstrated (e.g., highlight applications that could benefit from the technology/system), emphasize the novelty of the work, and clearly explain the emonstration scenario, including how the audience will interact with the demonstration system, in order to understand the concepts being demonstrated.
The demonstrations will be selected based on several criteria including novelty, the underlying research contributions of the demonstration system, as well as the “wow” factor of the demonstration. We specially solicit submissions that highlight new applications of database technologies.
Demonstration papers should be no more that 4 pages in the standard IEEE format. Any submission that does not follow the guideline will be rejected without review.
In addition to the paper, authors can submit an optional short (at most 4 minute) video illustrating the demonstration scenario. The accompanying video must clearly specify the paper it is affiliated with. It must be in MPEG format and playable using a wide variety of media players. The video is meant as an extra help for the reviewers to appreciate the interest of the demo; its presence is not a demo selection criterion in itself.
